Monitoring IT

The monitoring system of key elements of IT infrastructure is today very often a strategic tool enabling efficient administration of extensive IT structures. It can continuously monitor resources such as servers, routers, switches and network services. It allows you to recognize potential problems often before users experience them in their daily work. The system may, at the time of detection of irregularities, inform the administrator via e-mail or SMS, which allows you to quickly take preventive or corrective actions.

Key system features:

  • Monitoring of network services (SMTP, POP3, HTTP, NNTP, ICMP, SNMP, FTP, SSH)
  • Monitoring system resource usage (processor, hard disk usage, system logs) in most operating systems, including Microsoft Windows
  • Notification when problems are detected by email, pager, SMS or other defined notification methods
  • If you would be interested in the details of the offer and a detailed description of the system functions, please contact me.

Advantages of the service

Monitoring of IT infrastructure is a very important task, although unfortunately it is often not given priority. A well-developed surveillance system allows a much better orientation in the real load of systems. It also gives the possibility of much faster response to failures and even their prediction. Our systems are based on OpenSource solutions, which guarantees good quality of the software, as well as its ongoing development and corrections. We offer both monitoring and alarming in real time, as well as a system of time statistics collecting information about many parameters of the network environment. Solutions are based on standards, so there is a possibility of their development and integration with other systems.

Cacti

Cacti is an open source software that allows you to monitor the parameters of network devices and systems. In principle, it is possible to integrate with it any product that supports SNMP in any version. The most monitored resources are network interface loads, disk resources (occupancy, I / O operations), and memory occupancy. The tool requires a standard web server with PHP and MySQL support, which makes it very versatile and easy to maintain.

Nagios

Nagios allows you to monitor the network environment in real time, and in case of irregularities, notify the relevant groups of contacts in a defined way.
Standard notification methods include, for example, sending an email, but you can define in principle any way including SMS notification or the use of another external application. Thanks to Nagios, you can monitor almost any system parameters (both Unix and Windows) on an ongoing basis. The standard monitored parameters such as memory, disk or processor resources on the server are easily configurable, but with Nagios many plugins are provided to check the status of services (mail, ftp, http, operation of individual processes). The extension library is very rich, and if social extensions prove to be insufficient we can easily create additional ones in several programming languages. In addition to the notifications themselves, the status of the systems can be monitored via a web interface or browser plug-ins, external applications, as well as on mobile devices.
